It is provided over a series of 6 in-depth modules. Below is the outline as well as what you will learn in each of them.

 

MODULE 1- The 12 Types of Salary Raises and the 2 Reasons to Get a Raise

This module is the most important beginners’ module and it covers the 2 main reasons employers have for giving any employee a raise. Knowing these 2 reasons will set you up for success and will help you in understanding the rest of the course.

The module also covers the 12 types of raises, their advantages and how to utilize these advantages to your benefit during the salary negotiation.

MODULE 2 - The 8 Key Elements of Salary Negotiation

What is a Raise Conversation?

This module defines the Salary Raise Conversation and gives a guide line of how it should be organized.

The module also covers the 8 key elements of the raise conversation. The purpose of knowing the elements is that they give you clarity when you are preparing for the salary raise conversation. Preparation for the conversation is covered in the next module.

MODULE 3 - Preparing for the Raise Conversation
This is the most important of all modules as it deals with PREPARATION for a raise conversation. This preparation is based on the elements discussed in Module 2. The preparation covers 2 main areas: 1) the 17 major things to know ahead of any salary negotiation process; 2) the 5 critical, deliberate and straight forward actions to take before the salary negotiation.
MODULE 4 - The Master Negotiator: Handling the Actual Salary Negotiation

This module guides you on how to be professional throughout the actual salary negotiation process.

Being professional goes a long way in ensuring a win-win outcome for you and your employer happy.

The module has 5 sections each covering the following areas:

  1. The step by step order of the 8 elements of a raise conversation that we studied in module 2.
  2. Template for how you present you salary request
  3. Sample negotiation scripts to you could use in the raise conversation.
  4. Handling objections you may encounter during a raise conversation.
  5. Handling counter offers professionally

This module is designed to take you through the salary negotiation process using a hand holding approach. The negotiation scripts in section 3 also give you some clarity in how to handle the actual discussions during the raise conversation. Sections 1 and 2 are in the Part 1 material and Sections 3-5 are in Part 2

 

MODULE 5 - The Follow Up of the Salary Negotiation

After completing a salary raise conversation, there are various ways to react depending on the outcome of the conversation.

This module will help you know how to react professionally based on the various outcomes that can come out of any raise conversation you will have in future.

How you react and follow up is also critical in sealing and finalizing the salary negotiation process.

MODULE 6 - The 22 Worst Mistakes People Make during Negotiation

This is the final module of the course and the purpose is to help you quickly identify the 22 major mistakes most people make during the salary negotiation process.

In all the other modules we have mainly taken the time to focus on the things to do to get a salary increase and how to do them.

This module mainly focuses on what not to do during this process.

We believe that majority of these mistakes are made out of either fear or a lack of knowing the right thing to do. However if the knowledge acquired from the previous modules is applied well, most of these mistakes can be avoided.

But it is still important to actually know what the mistakes are and then use the lessons in all the modules to avoid these mistakes.
